Spring Membership Meeting
" Landscaping with Native Trees and Shrubs"
The Village of Innsbrook Garden Club will kick-off the 2018
gardening season at its Spring Membership Meeting. We will showcase
our calendar of events. Our featured speaker will be Betty Struckhoff from St. Louis
Master Gardener Speakers Bureau, who will talk about "Landscaping with Native Trees and Shrubs".
One year VIGC membership dues of $ 25 per family may be paid at this time.
Please join us as we enjoy light refreshments and renew gardening friendships.

Drop Off Donated Plants for Plant Sale Setup
Innsbrook gardeners have the opportunity to donate their excess perennials for the co-operative
plant sale. Its the perfect time to refresh your garden and support your neighborhood
garden club at the same time. IF you have excess perennials to donate, please put them in disposable
pots or plastic bags and deliver them to the maintenance building on Friday, May 11, from noon to 3pm.
Please identify your plants.

Annual Plant Sale/Exchange
Innsbrook gardeners have the opportunity to purchase the excess plants of others at this co-operative plant sale. The proceeds
go to support the Village of Innsbrook Garden Club. All plants will be very reasonably priced
and locally grown. Its the perfect time to refresh your garden and support your neighborhood
garden club at the same time. This year we will be featuring green-house sized SHADE plants specially selected to
do well in your Innsbrook garden!!

Demonstration Garden across from the Conference Center. Come and be a part of making our gardens take

Hermann Garden Tour/Lunch at Wurst House
We will leave from the Aspen Center at 8:30am to carpool to Hermann, Missouri, for the "City and Country Gardens Tour".
Starting out at 9:30am at the Deutscheim House, we will tour the city gardens. At noon we will gather at the Wurst Haus for lunch together. After lunch you are free to
visit the country gardens of your choice. BEFORE May 15, contact Shirley Ritsema at saritsema@gmail.com for reservations and to pay
$10 per person for your tour ticket and map.

Bus Trip to Missouri Botanical Garden for Docent Led Tour
VIGC has rented a bus to carry members to the beautiful gardens at MOBOT. IBK chalet owners and docents Phyllis and Brad Hershey
will lead our tour "where ever we want to go"! Then we will bus to lunch at Anthonio's Taverna and finish with Ted Drewes on the
way home. Make reservations BEFORE June 13 and payment of $15 per person to Lynn Laws at lblmjl@earthlink.net.

Wine and Veggies in the Garden
We will gather where the veggies are grown, in the Innsbrook Community Garden. Wine and water will be provided.
Please bring a veggie dish to share and a chair to sit in. Be prepared for a tasty and educational time!

Wilderness Wagon Tour at Shaw Nature Preserve
We will carpool to Shaw Nature Preserve where we will board a wagon for a tour and then an optional wild flower walk.
About 12:30 we will enjoy lunch at the Hawthorne Inn in nearby Labadie, MO.
Seating is limited on the wagon. No later than August 14, contact Judi Main at judi_main@hotmail.com for reservations

Bountiful Harvest Dinner
We planned, planted, watered, weeded, repotted, watered, and watched our gardens grow.
Now it’s time to say “thank you” to all our loyal 2018 VIGC members with a complimentary
and bountiful harvest dinner. Wine and a main meat entree will be provided.
Members are asked to bring a side dish, dessert, or appetizer to share. Hope you’ll join us as
