"Challenges of Gardening at IBK"
The Village of Innsbrook Garden Club will kick-off the 2019 gardening season at its Spring Membership Meeting. We will showcase our calendar of events. Our featured speaker will be Chryl Rafert from MOBOT Master Gardener Speakers Bureau, who will talk about "Challenges of Gardening at IBK". One year VIGC membership dues of $ 25 per family may be paid at this time. Please join us as we enjoy light refreshments and renew gardening friendships.

Fri May 10 Drop Off Donated Plants for Plant Sale Setup
Innsbrook gardeners have the opportunity to donate their excess perennials for the co-operative plant sale. Its the perfect time to refresh your garden and support your neighborhood garden club at the same time. IF you have excess perennials to donate, please put them in disposable pots or plastic bags and deliver them to the maintenance building on Friday, May 10, from noon to 3pm. Please identify your plants.

Sat May 11 Annual Plant Sale/Exchange
Innsbrook gardeners have the opportunity to purchase the excess plants of others at this co-operative plant sale. The proceeds go to support the Village of Innsbrook Garden Club. All plants will be very reasonably priced and locally grown. Its the perfect time to refresh your garden and support your neighborhood garden club at the same time. This year we will be featuring green-house sized SHADE plants specially selected to do well in your Innsbrook garden!!

Tues May 14 Spring Wildflower Walk Shaw Nature Preserve
We will leave from the Aspen Center at 8:30am to carpool to Shaw Nature Reserve. Starting out at 9:30am we will tour the Whitmore wild flower garden. At noon we will lunch at Haawthorne Inn, Labadie, MO. BEFORE May 1, contact Carolyn Cranston (carolyncranston@gmail.com) for reservations and to pay $10 per person for your tour ticket.

Fri May 17 Demo Garden Planting
Bring along your hand gardening tools and join us as we plant our Demonstration Garden across from the Conference Center. Come and be a part of making our gardens take shape for 2019. Date is flexible based on weather, soil conditions, etc.

Wed June 19 Bus Trip to MIZZOU Botanical Garden for Docent Led Tour
VIGC has rented a bus to carry members to MIZZOU Botanical Garden in Columbia, MO. A docent will lead our WALKING tour. Then we will bus to lunch at 44 Stone Public House - open menu - each guest pays own. Make reservations BEFORE May 10 and payment of $15 per person to Shirley Ritsema (saritsema@gmail.com).

IBK Horticulturist Elise will lead a tour of Innsbrook Gardeens featuring Red, White, and Blue Flowers. Wear walking shoes. Water provided.

Fri Sept 20 VIGC Chautauqua Celebtrating Living in Harmony with Nature
Several Rounds of presenters will showcase how plants bring us closer in harmony with Nature. Visitors will be given a program in order to select which sessions to attend. Wine and appetizeer social after presentations to share our new insights from the day.

Fri Oct 11 Bountiful Harvest Dinner 

We planned, planted, watered, weeded, repotted, watered, and watched our gardens grow. Now it’s time to say “thank you” to all our loyal 2019 VIGC members with a complimentary and bountiful harvest dinner. Wine and a main meat entree will be provided. Members are asked to bring a side dish, dessert, or appetizer to share. Hope you’ll join us as we celebrate another great gardening season. RSVP to Linda Gambill (lgambill@centurytel.net)
